Technical Project Manager, Transit (Denver, CO or Chicago, IL)

Ubisense Americas has been highly successful in providing solutions into the Transit Industry.  With impressive reference sites and a rapidly growing customer base we need a highly skilled Project Manager to ensure our continued success in this market.

Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with Sales and the RTLS VP Delivery, responsible for developing project plans and statements of work (SOWs) for project proposals including detailed task descriptions, deliverables, project schedules and acceptance criteria.
  • Provides project management services for Ubisense customer projects:  lead on all issues related to the management and execution of the project, consistent with the contract, and within the scope, schedule, and budget constraints in the agreed project plan, always managing customer expectations conservatively.
  • Participates in a leading role in definition, execution and analysis of integration and acceptance tests in co-operation with field engineers and stakeholders on customer side.
  • Identifies scope and cost of project changes, and interacts with customer working with Sales to negotiate contract changes.
  • Participates in account management activities, focused on building strong customer relationships resulting in incremental business and referenceable accounts.
  • Monitor RTLS project execution against targets on a per project basis and organize counter measures when required
  • RTLS project progress reporting (status, scope, schedule budget, etc.) on a per project basis

Skills and Education

  • Strong technical background with experience as a technical project manager, and strong technical foundations as a developer, systems analyst, or applications engineer.
  • Strong experience managing technical project teams of 5-10 people consisting of Ubisense team members, partners and customer staff
  • Experience introducing sophisticated technology at complex customer sites
  • Desired experience managing implementations involving transit applications, web interfaces, complex LAN environments, and ideally RTLS/RFID systems.
  • Desire to work with a strong team in a rapid growth technology business.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, and other project management tools.
  • Extensive Domestic and some international travel, often spending extended periods at customer sites.

Responsibilities


Account Management

Project Management

Requirements

Regional Sales Manager - Manufacturing, North East, US

We are seeking a high energy, ambitious individual to join our team to help drive our sales activities into the industrial manufacturing market in the North Eastern US.  This is a great opportunity to join a small, very successful team selling unique assembly automation, tool control and asset management solutions into automotive, tier 1, aerospace and discrete manufacturing companies.

The sales are a combination of software, hardware and services and have a high value and complexity requiring individual business cases to be crafted for each opportunity.

Responsibilities

This newly created customer-facing position involves the following:

  • Manage and close multiple million dollar opportunities
  • Identify and qualify new customers
  • Identify and work with our engineering team to develop new solutions
  • Working with the Proposal Manager, craft proposals, close new business and lead contract negotiations
  • Engage resources to assist in demos and creating technical bids
  • Co-sell with Ubisense Agents
  • Expand ongoing customer relationships

This position will require extensive domestic and some international travel.

Required skills

Excellent complex and strategic selling skills are essential since the primary target is large industrial manufacturing companies.  The candidate must be comfortable addressing business and technical managers both on an individual level and in groups.  You must be able to demonstrate:

  • 7+ years direct sales experience
  • Previous complex software/technology solution selling experience to the discrete manufacturing sector (Automotive, Aerospace, Industrial Equipment etc)
  • Ability to Manage multiple million dollar opportunities concurrently
  • Experience of effectively co-ordination with technical sales and engineering resources

Senior Developer and Software Architect, (Denver, CO or possibly remote)

Ubisense is looking for a senior developer and software architect to join the Ubisense myWorld product team.  Ubisense is changing the face of complex enterprise geospatial applications using modern web technologies and open source products (including Google and Bing Maps, OpenLayers, MapFish and PostGIS). The product is new and the team is small, so this position offers a great opportunity to have a significant impact on the product and the next wave of enterprise geospatial applications.

We are looking for an experienced web developer with both client and server side skills, and experience with web mapping technologies. You should be able to take initiative and work independently, but also work well within a team. The environment is fast moving, with rapid development of product functionality and frequent changes to accommodate new functionality for demos or customer projects.  Travel is minimal.

Required skills

Technical skills: HTML, JavaScript, experience with web mapping APIs such as Google, Bing or OpenLayers.

Desired skills

We do not expect any candidate to have all the following items, but experience in any of these areas would be positive:
